DVR search and missing recordings.

What titles are you searching for and not able to find? If you don't set a manual recording, does the program still record?

Every title I search for. Right now the search only finds shows that are on for the next 2 days and the current day. It used to search for up to 12 or 13 days ahead.

I don't know because I always set a manual recording, because the show is not listed in the scheduled recordings list.

Happened last night with The Case of Jon Benet. show was no longer listed in the scheduled recordings list, so I set a mutual recording. It then recorded the same show twice.

Then the show did not show up in the recorded list until after I reset the DVR

"First is programs not showing up in search. Programs are on the guide but do not show up with the search feature. Sometimes it shows a folder for the show, than it is empty. I have tried all options such as First Run, DVD or all. Other times I search for a specific program by title and the results in that folder are for totally different programs."

When searching for a title in the guide, are you searching the guide by title or key word? Are both search options providing you with an empty folder, or no programs at all? Are you finding this search populates only after the hard reset to the receiver?

"2nd problem is series recordings disappearing from scheduled recordings lists. This has happened multiple times on different shows. So I set a manual recording and records the same show at the same time twice, while only being listed in the scheduled recordings once. I have reset the box multiple times. This is the 3rd box I am on and have lost hundreds of recordings when having to replace the box."

Is the series file you programmed to record still listed in your series manager? After you program a series to record, you're not seeing it in scheduled recordings, then schedule a manual recording. This may be why the receiver is recording the same time twice. I see you had reset the DVR and the show would populate in the recorded list. If you don't reset prior to the series recording, is the series still recording without scheduling a manually programmed recording?

"Another problem I have had with the recordings not showing up on the scheduled recordings list, but they show up on the guide with the red dot as a scheduled recording. When I try to cancel the recording, it says this show is busy being scheduled try again later. This has happened for days at a time. The series recordings are set 2 weeks in advance and I am unable to cancel it because it says it is busing scheduling it when it has been on the schedule for 2 weeks. As I said I am on my 3rd DVR in the last few years, your prices keep going up and the quality of service keeps going down."

Is there a reference number provided with the error you receive when attempting to cancel the recording?
