    Hi,

How often are you having this issue, is it happening on more than one TV in the home? Sounds like there could be some signal issues, are there any splitters being used on that cable outlet?
  • Yes,  I called into Cox service and had it it romotely reboot the cable box.  It did help some. Not as frequent sound pauses. It had been getting very bad.

    Hello Flower Gardener,

Thank you for the update, has the problem gotten any better since yesterday or are you still having issues?

    Me and my neighbor!

I tired Cox TV about 8 years back. Worse service I ever had since the start of cable tv and that includes over the air pay channels that was tired back in the 80s in some markets by another company.

I had a new drop run to my home my $$$$ and still bad.

Went to another service and they where great.

Then I saw this new Contour 2 from Cox and liked it.

Features removed from Contour which I liked and one of the reasons I went for it.

Some channels just go to black, pixels and the pauses.

I have heard ever BS story Cox has to give for poor service.

Now I am waiting for a phone call from the engineering dept which I will not hold my breath for.

Was also told another reason for problems is that Cox's parent company Comcast is to blame just 2 days ago by phone tech support. As far as I know Cox is a privately held company unless a deal was made that I cannot find.

My faith in Cox support is zero as they have no support.

The funny part is my internet smokes and zero problems.

So maybe providing TV service is just so they can be a "cable" provider.

Just maybe the code to run Contour is bad and their hardware is not up to date to deliver.

Just my 2 cents in this matter.

I am sure the forum support will just love my post.

Blaming another company for your problems is dangerous and claiming it is your parent company is illegal..

Unless the below is wrong Comcast has nothing to do with Cox.

It was taken private by Cox Enterprises in 1985 ---- meaning Cox.

Be happy to talk to your legal dept.

Before your phone support gets your company in hot legal water with another company.

    or

Send my personal info through an unsecured source.

  • I have pixelating on 15 channels and audio skips 4 times per hour for the past several months. A month ago, a very nice Cox techician replaced many cables and splitters. But the problem continues. He said the problem was not in my house but either across the street at the larger box or the box  that feeds the subdivision. A technician arrived to check the main street big cable box. Problem still not fixed. Very dIsappointing.
