Do I Need a Modem Upgrade?

Today I downgraded my internet service from the Preferred to the Essential program to save money. I have a SB6121 modem. I was wondering will I have a better experience upgrading to the SB6183 modem. I want to make sure that at the slower Essential speed, the modem I use is not a bottleneck. If I upgrade the modem, is it a simple PNP or does Cox have to be alerted and initiate things on their end?

    No, the 6121 caps out somewhere around 100+ Mbps, since the essentials runs around 15Mbps, you don't need to upgrade your modem.  Your speed tier is the limiting factor here.
