Digitized picture and distorted sound only during prime time hours on local networks

I live in Pensacola FL and have had Cox TV for almost 4 years.  Last TV season was wasted with NBC having poor picture quality and sound cutting out only during prime time--8:00 to 11:00 PM.  I contacted Cox support several times and was finally told that it was a known concern and was a problem with the station and not a Cox problem.  Now we are starting a new season with the prime time shows and the problem is here again.  While reruns are on, there is no problem at all. It is now affecting other networks and is only during prime time hours in the evening.  Am I the only one experiencing this digitized picture and distorted sound issue or does it appear that Cox cannot provide decent service on local networks during peak hours?

  • This is continuing to happen and now all local networks are having very poor quality during prime time evening hours.  I find it hard to believe that I would be the only one experiencing this.

Is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver or is there a splitter? Is this on all TVs? Is it on the SD or HD channel?

  • This is directly from the wall.  No splitter.  It is happening on all TVs and is on SD and HD channels.  Only happens during evening primetime hours on NBC, CBS, ABC local channels.  Both cable boxes are new  and it is the same issue that happened last TV season with the old cable boxes.  We have went through having all cables and plugs replaced as well.
