dg2460 not working with my wifi

I just bought my arris modem DG2460 this past April and tried to log on to my wifi, it said I had a ineligible modem but yet its on the compatible modem list. Called tech support and was informed that it is a firmware issue, and that arris is working on it. I've seen that a lot of customers are complaining, so why haven't cox and arris fix the problem.

    Hi squire61,

    We apologize for the inconvenience. We are currently working with Arris to resolve this issue. Once the firmware has been updated, your modem will automatically reset and update to the new version of firmware. You can also access the modem settings screen by going to http://192.168.0.1.
