Well I heard, from Andrea Who Knows Things, that it's actually a massive attack from the Chinese to deflect away from the fact that militant atheists are using chem-trails to poison angels in heaven.

Are you sure it's not an attack of alien ants entering thru your ears and eating your brain?

Conrad, I actually thought this was a "Chicken Little" post ... "current DDos Attacks on the way".  I didn't see a real technical question.  It is highly unlikely any hacker would launch a ddos attack on an individual, what do they have to gain for the effort?  If an attack is launched against Cox or any other isp, there is nothing you can do about it.  It's up to the isp to keep their network clean.  As far as your own network, a modern router with good firewall and only open ports you really need.  I don't even enable upnp, I manually enter port forwarding as needed.  Up to date virus protection on all systems is a must.  In summary, practice safe computing.  Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Do you have any technical evidence of a problem you can share so that we may look to see what could be going?

  • Conrad,

I'm glad to hear you found a solution. Please keep in mind that our forums are a place where customers can help each other and discuss Cox services. Our forums members are really a helpful bunch when provided enough information.

I was able to look into this some, and it seems the attacks you mentioned were affecting Blizzard players in Europe. I wasn't able to find anything for US players.

    Happy gaming.

I'm sorry Conrad, I just assumed this was a flyby rant/post like so many others here. I am glad to hear you got your problem solved though, and should you post here in the future I will actually try to be helpful

    Cheers!
