CW on the Contour2 App?

The Contour 2 app is advertised as allowing us to view our Cox lineup anywhere in the house. Sadly, that is not true. For example, not only can I not view the CW network on my iPad, I can't even check the Contour2 guide to see what show is playing as the channel simply isn't listed!

Does Cox have an app that includes a channel guide that includes ALL Cox channels?

The missed marketing opportunity alone is unbelievable! It seems in Cox's best interest to show us all the programming available... I mean, how would I ever know I'm missing something if the network isn't even listed in the lineup?

Even the very first Cox app had a complete Cox channel listing. Contour2 was a step in the wrong direction...

    ESLocal,

The top corner of the guide has a filter. Do you see an option for all channels? Not all channels are available outside the home at this time. You can change the guide filter to TV Go which shows only the channels that are available outside the home.

    Thanks for the reply.

There are no filters set. The guide simply doesn't show all the channels I have.

I want to also make clear I'm trying to watch the CW at home, not "on the go", while hooked to my Cox-based home network.

Countour2 advertising implies that it allows us to watch all of our channels AT HOME, which isn't the case. It only allows us to view some of the networks we are subscribed to.

Even worse, the Contour2 guide doesn't allow us to look up what is currently playing on all those left-out networks.

The original Cox app allowed us to see what was on ALL the channels. Contour2 was a step backwards...

    Thanks for trying to help!

I did exactly as you advised, and made sure all filters have been cleared. My iPad is logged into my home network. I have “Use Cellular Data" turned off so I know I’m not hooked in through the cellular network.

Neither channel 24 or 2024, the two channels where CW appears on my TV, is on the Contour 2 app.

I also just noticed that the channel 21 content on Contour is showing a local governmental channel different than our local channel for Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It appears that we are getting a feed from Andover, Kansas!

It is like Contour thinks I’m in Andover, Kansas, not Eureka Springs, Arkansas. And that Channel 21, the governmental access channel, would be showing "How I Met Your Mother"... see the screen shot attached.

But then I realized other local channels are being shown correctly. For example, KAFT is the local PBS affiliate and their content is being shown on channel 13.

Sorry, but Contour2 is NOT working correctly...

FYI, I checked my IP address location, and whatismyip.com says I am in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

  • Hi ESLocal,

When connected to your in-home Cox network, the Contour App allows you to stream any national channel live. Because Cox has to get permission from each network before we can offer their channels in our app, not all local channels are available at this time. Get more info at http://bit.ly/AboutContour2App.

It is puzzling that the CW network isn't listed in your lineup, as I believe CW should be available for you. I'm confirming this with a specialist in your local market and will get back to you as soon as I have more info. Thanks for your patience!

  • Hi ESLocal,

It appears that the CW network is not yet available in the Eureka Springs Contour 2 App channel lineup. However, Cox customers can view current and classic CW shows using the CW App and CW Seed App. Get more info at www.cwtv.com/thecw/apps.

Thanks for the update. Any idea why we're shown the Andover, Kansas governmental channel instead of our local Eureka Springs channel? Please not the listings that are shown are screwed up, too. Look at Channel 21 in the screen shot. A local governmental channel (21) does NOT show "How I Met Your Mother"...
  • Hi Charles,

I'm sorry this has caused so much confusion! The channel numbers within the Contour 2 app may not exactly match your local TV channel lineup. If we've only received permission to stream the national feed of a channel, for example, the channel number within the app may differ from the channel number of your local affiliate. What name is displayed for channel 21? Is it TBS, perhaps?
