Cox server not working with other servers

Cox has admitted the problem but apparently not smart enough to fix. Can't communicate with outlook for sin 10/29---13 days. Does anyone think it will be fixed soon or should I just change from cox to a server such as gmail?

Since I haven't had any problems with outlook can you tell us what the error that outlook is giving you?

Ok when you get this message 99% of the time it is exactly the problem it states - either the username or password aren't working

So - for username you need the first part of the email address (everything BEFORE the @ sign)

Password - now here's the rub.  Sometimes the password gets corrupted.  So, change your password on the cox website, choose a relatively simple one - test that see if it works.  If it does, cool you are golden.  Then change it to whatever you want that is more complicated, and verify that works.

There are several known issues with the Cox email servers, and honestly I don't think Cox is doing a good job nor has made good choices for their email service, but username/password issues aren't those types of issues.

Also, if/when you log into webmail.cox.net - try the username and password you have.  DON'T accept the auto-populated password you have saved in your browser.  Type what you think your password is, then try accessing it.  If that doesn't work, guess what?  Your username or password are wrong.
