Contour2 Auto Extend Feature Fails

I can't tell you how many times I've been burned by the Contour 2 "auto extend" feature with major league baseball. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If a game is extended, it's often the most important part of a game. Then the recording ends at it's regularly scheduled end time. It's extremely aggravating. I subscribe to MLB Extra Innings. I record a lot of games. I estimate the fail rate at 25%. 

When I set up a recording with Contour 2 for MLB, it tells me "recording time will automatically extend if this program runs long". Maybe yes, maybe no. It's undependable technology.   

I called support months ago about this issue. The best answer they could give me was....we're aware of the problem and we're working to get it fixed. Fail.
