Contour What is a good setup for family of 4?

I have Dish but want to switch to Cox TV in Poway, CA.  I like that with Dish I get HD TV in all the rooms and all can share programs recorded on the two hopper DVR's from the Joeys in any room.

I hear Cox does not have remote TV DVR access, is this true?

What is a good setup to have some DVR capability in master bedroom and living room, and some iPad DVR show watching?

I was thinking of cox for local channels, music, etc and to record some shows, but the other side of me says just boost the Internet and get a Netflix and keep cox minimum TV for basic cable (local news) only.

any thoughts?

The kids rarely watch TV, would like to be able to turn on a recorded movie in the bedroom and one in the living room at the same time. On the other hand, maybe all I should worry about is get a smart TV and basic local channels for emergency news (broadcast signal is bad).

Thanks in advance for replies/thoughts.
