Contour TV Apps

I have had Contour for 2 days. When I push the "Contour" button on the remote, my screen looks like the one in the welcome brochure, but there is no "Apps" choice. Also, the only one of the A, B, C and D buttons that functions is A. Are these functions limited to subscribers with DVR? There is no mention of them being only part of the DVR boxes, and these functions aren't related to recording.  I "chatted with Cox last night, but the person I was assigned ended up giving me a number, so I think maybe it's a mystery to Cox too. Anyone else notice this with their Contour? Better yet, does anyone know a fix? Thanks!
