Contour 2

Hi Group, We recently switched to Contour 2. For many years, I have watched TV by Setting up my favorites menu and then cycling through favorites by pushing the “favorites” button. I can quickly find what I want. With Contour 2 I have to go back to the menu to switch to the next favorite. Very slow and cumbersome. Just not workable. Is there any way I can do this besides going back to the old box and remote? Appreciate your help.

  • Hi Wildtrout, Once you save a list of Favorite channels, you can set a Guide view that displays only those channels. This is a two-step process. The first step is to designate channels as Favorites. Press the GUIDE button on the Cox remote. Use the arrows to highlight a channel that you want to designate as a Favorite. Press the left arrow to highlight the Channel Name/Number/Logo, and then press OK. Additional menu options will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Use the arrows to highlight Favorite, and then press OK. Once you have built a list of Favorite Channels, you can change your guide view to Favorites. On the Cox remote control press GUIDE twice. The filter options will load. Use the arrows to highlight Favorites, and then press OK. Now, whenever you press the Guide button, your default view will be only those channels you have saved as Favorites. Please let us know if we can assist with other issues or questions!

Notice that your question was not really answered nor problem solvedy. Yes you can even set favorites as the default guidelines preferences. BUT.... To simply move to the next favorite channel in Contour 2, you must first open the guide, then move up or down, then select with OK. Channel up or down goes through all channels. There is no favorite button. There is only one favorites list for all users and all TVs in the house. Some nice new features but in some basic functions a big step backwards from previous. Probably because programming team was not given much guidance, they had never seen or used the previous version, and the programmers probably aren't cable tv watchers.
