Contour 2 vs. Contour 1 (Record 6 DVR)

Has anyone compared the 2 dvr's?  I understand the differences in features ( 1 has Caller ID ; 2 does not) but i wanted to know about reliability.   My Contour 1 has lots of quirks. It needs to be rebooted every 2-3 weeks.   Cox Phone Support has done the reboot and has downloaded software updates.  That helps for a while.  The signal to my house is strong.

If i go to a Cox Store, do they offer a choice of Contour 1 or 2?  Or do they only use 2's?
