Contour 2 TV input

Just got Contour 2. When I use TV input to go to my DVD player, Netflix, Hulu, etc. no problem. When I return to TV channels by pressing the TV input on the remote, I press the source for TV and get there, but the list of source options remain on the screen for 1-3 minutes. I would think there would be a button to exit this or it would disappear immediately after selecting the source needed. Instead it lingers superimposed over the TV show I'd like to be watching. When I called customer support services the support person did not understand what the problem was.
