Contour 2 Remote

My mother in law gave me a second TV for my office and I set it up. Works great, but the Contour remote turns both my Insignia (the TV I've always had in my office) and the Sansui (the one my mother in law gave me) on. Is there a way to prevent both of them from turning on when I use the power button on the remote?

  • Hi dmoran,

Congrats on the new office TV! Are you using the XR11-RF for the TV? If so, it sounds like you need to Clear programmed devices to add new devices. Check out this link to follow the steps and then re-program the remote to the desired devices in the office.

Hi Dustin, I tried this and am still having the same problem.

  • Hi dmoran,

Please try this since the code 9-8-6 didn't reset:

Press and hold the Setup button on the Cox remote for three seconds, until the red LED on the remote turns green.
Enter 9-8-1. Result: The LED blinks green twice to indicate the remote has been reset.

After these steps, program the remote for the receiver, then the TV you have in the office.

Hi Dustin. I tried this as well and still have the same issue. Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

The only other suggestion would be to swap the remote. You can take the remote to the Solution Store to swap or I can schedule a technician to come out and resolve the issue.
