Contour 2 Remote Box Slow / Freezes

I got a New Contour 2 a couple of days ago and installed the main record 6 box in my family room and a remote box in my bedroom.  The tech that installed it just plugged things in and left without checking anything out.  The main box in the family room works just fine.  The remote box in my bedroom is extremely slow to change channels or tune into channels and very slow to respond to remote control inputs.  It often freezes up and I have to power it down and up again using the button on the box.  Anybody else have this issue?  Any ideas what's going on or how to fix this?

Please send an email to: cox.help@cox.com with your full address so I can take a look at the 2nd box and see what's going on. Thanks!

Thanks Stephanie but I already did a live chat with tech support.  They suggested I return the client box to a Cox store and get a new one short of having somebody come out to the house to check things out.  I may have found the problem though.   The cable from the wall was going through an old VCR then to the client box.  I hadn't realized the tech that installed it had left it that way.  It seems to be working much better now that it's connected directly to the cable coming out of the wall.  I havent used it much though so we'll see.  If it acts up again I will follow the advice of the chat tech.  Thanks.

  • Hi DLRpuppy,

I'm glad to hear that everything is working better since correcting the way the client box connected to the cable outlet. Please let us know if you have any questions or issues in the future! We're happy to help in any way that we can.
