Contour 1 DVR

Just posted two questions regarding my Contour 1 DVR. Second question was about my having problems recording a show in progress. Just found out I was doing it incorrectly. DOOOH! I was highlighting it in Guide then pressing red "Rec" button. I would not take and was placed in "Missed Recordings" due to technical problem. Now I see that I should just have the show playing on the screen - not showing "Guide" - and press the red "Rec" button which gives me the recording options. I tried getting fancy and it did not work. My mistake!

Still can't clear shows from the "Missed Recording" list though. Any thoughts?
