Connecting Contour GSX9865 and small remote box to wireless headphones.

I have a Contour GSX9865 with a small remote box also. I need to connect a wireless headset to both boxes. No problem connecting to the DVR itself. Problem with the remote box. Only coax in and out, and 1 hdmi out. Need to use RCA type connectors for headphone base unit. Will some kind of switch box that has a coax in, connected to the remote box coax out,  and rca a/v out work for audio on the headset?

    Yoman,

You would need to check with the headset manufacturer to see what options are available for different connections. Is it possible to connect the base unit to the TV instead of the cable box?

What is the remote box?  Stephanie is correct:  connect your headphone base unit only to your TV.

Your TV is already processing all audio for your components (Contour and "remote box") so it'll be the best source for your headphones.

"Remote box" is referring to the smaller box hooked to a TV in a different room than the Contour DVR, so that TV can still use/view things on the DVR. The TV in question here has only input jacks. The headset is made by Sony I believe and has a base which is what connects to a device using rca audio plugs. The headset is wireless. Once again, the "remote box" has only coax in (from the wall), coax out, and hdmi out to TV.

The TV in question has only input jacks. I'll see what I can find out from the headset manufacturer.

I understand.  The "remote box" is a Mini Box.  For example, you have a DVR in the living room and a Mini Box in the bedroom.

It doesn't sound like your base unit is compatible with your remote TV or Mini Box.

What's the make and model of your TV in question?  Perhaps it's Bluetooth enabled.  Instead of a separate switch box or base unit, you'd only need to pair a Bluetooth headset with it.
