Changing name and password on modem

I am not understanding how to go about changing the name and password for my modem.  Do I need to go to net gear page (it's a net gear moden)

Can anyone help me?

    Are you trying to change the WiFi name (SSID) and password (Presharred Key, PSK)?  You must sign on to the gateway or router.  For Netgear, enter 192.168.1.1 into the address bar of your browser.  If that doesn't work try 192.168.0.1. If successful it will ask for a user ID and password, default is admin/password.  Once signed on, navigate to WiFi setup/security.  From there you can change the SSID and PSK.
