Change TV input using Cox Mini Box URC-220-R

Hi Everyone,

I recently came back to Cox, one of my TV's (Element 32") is hooked up to Cox's Mini Box with the remote URC-2220-R.

The remote works fine to turn TV on/off, volume up/down - but can't get it to change the TV input, when I press the input button only shows on the screen the "HDMI I" mode but won't change it.

Any advise on how to get it to switch the TV input mode using the cox mini box remote?

Thanks,

    Short answer; No.

What model Element TV is it? As per manual here, to change input you use the instructions below. The problem with those instructions is it requires the Up and down arrow keys to "pick" the input you want. Since the URC-2220's arrow keys only control the mini box, not the TV, it won't work. I would suggest a universal remote like this one.

    Selecting the Input Source

    • Press the SOURCE button on the main unit or on the remote control to display the Input Source list.

    • Press the Up/down arrow buttons to select your desired input source among: TV/AV/ Component/HDMI1/HDMI2/HDMI3/ VGA/USB a

    Thanks Tecknowhelp!

It's the Element ELEFW328 32" 720p 60Hz Class LED HDTV, the one Walmart had on sale this past holiday season.

I will look into the universal remote option or just keep the TV remote handy so I can toggle back/forth between Cox and Amazon Fire TV.  That will make it 3 remotes: TV, Cox and Amazon!!!

Thanks again and have a nice weekend!

That is almost exactly like the TV we have in the second living room, and I have the same issue on it and all I have connected to it is a DVD player. What makes it specifically a pain in the neck, is it's difficult to even do it with the buttons on the TV. You have to press the input/source button on the front, then use the Channel Up+down key to select the input, but THEN you have to press the input button again to select it. Common sense would make you think once the proper input is highlighted, it would auto select it, but nope.
