Chandler, AZ - Gigablast Slowness

Good evening,

Are there currently and bandwidth issues in the chandler, AZ area at this time? zip code is 85249.

I have gigablast.

I am seeing speeds of  400/130 at this time.

I am usually around 950/950 almost always.

I have power cycled my fiber modem as well as my router. Same issue persists after the power cycle of both. I tapped into the router wired from 2 different PC's to make sure it wasn't an issue with just that PC.

Thanks,

Anthony

I'm not aware of any issues affecting your connection. Are you still using the provided Netgear router? Are you able to try connecting a PC directly to the ONT and testing?

I am using a combination of a Netgear R7500 router and a Linksys EA9500 through out my home.

I have not tried connecting directly to the ONT and testing. I will do so tomorrow and report back.

So I tested directly off the ONT with a laptop wired. That test only gave me 650 down and 287 up,

From router its 555 down 140 up

Thanks guys, I actually called the other day. I have a fiber tech coming out today to check things out.

Tech was out. Replaced the fiber modem as well as an RJ connector inside the home among some other things. Was here for a few hours.

He was able to get perfect speeds a few time from his laptop directly connected to the fiber modem but those speeds didn't last long as the connection deteriorated quickly shortly after.

He cut a ticket to have someone else come out to check things further outside of the house tomorrow, Connection is fluctuating constantly.as far as speed.

The speed tests that actually go through are capping out around 550 down 150 up every single time. Almost like I'm being capped.

Post back in the coming days.

I'm curious to see what your outcome is, I am having similar issues from the start though, never had 900-950 consistently. I have to computers a 2008 MacPro with a gigbit network card and a 2013 MacBook Pro with a gigabit network dongle adapter and an Xbox1 with gigabit ethernet port...only my MacBook Pro gets the 900-950 speeds, I'd expect all 3 to get them and I'm not.

Had a tech come out, couldn't get anything to get more than 500-600 down, cleaned the fiber port at the modem, checked some things outside and inside, said he was stumped, showed I had full connection, I have fiber to the modem. Then when I plugged in the MacBook Pro and got the 900-950 down, that gave him an out and he said it must be something with my MacPro and Xbox, since the MacBook was getting the correct speeds, I let him off the hook.

So I'm curious to know what outcome you can get from them.

So no change today, ran a few speed tests.. No note on the door from Cox either,. So I'm guessing they were not out.

    HI,

I pulled up the account recently and the maintenance ticket status was "Resolved" and I see you've spoken with our tech and received an update. Let us know if there are any other issues we can help with!
