Can I have cable internet without also paying for a tv plan?

I was told I have to pay for basic cable in order to have internet through COX. Is this true? I only need internet. I tried looking on the COX site, but since my account is linked to my fathers for some reason it won't let me search for this service without his permission. dumb. Anyway, I can't find the answer on line. Thanks

    You are not required to subscribe to basic cable if all you need is internet service. You can find our available internet plans and prices at www.cox.com/residential/internet/prices.cox. Be sure to set your location from the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
