Cable box resets by itself

  Cable box resets itself and goes into a counting loop and never comes back on. I reset the box by unplugging/re-plugging the power cord but still happens. Also some channels get the message temporarily out of service and some get the distorted screens and audio. Do I need to exchange the cable box.

    Hi, sounds like there may be some signal issues with the box. Are there any splitters being used on that outlet to connect a second device? Does this happen on more than one TV/box in the home?

    This could be a signal issue. Remotely it is tough to determine if a receiver swap would completely address the scrolling numbers on the front panel and the Temp Off Air Messages. Is there a splitter that allows the Receiver and a Modem to share a connection to one outlet to the wall?
