Cable Box Issues

I was wondering if you could help with the following problem. I own an older digital cable box (not the mini box). It recently shut down and restarted on its own. When it came back on, I didn't get any sound. I turned my box around to see if the cables were secure. When I did that, some of the cables were accidentally detached from the cable box. I reconnected everything and now, I'm not getting a television signal. Do I need to get another cable box? Do I need to upgrade to the mini box?

Thanks,

Paula Krueger

What type of cable or you using to connect the TV and cable box HDMI, component, composite or coax cable? Make sure TV on the correct input base on the type of cable you're using.

I'm not sure what the name of the cables are (I'm not very good at this stuff), but they are the ones that are color-coded. Would you be able to tell me which ones go in each slot just in case I accidently connected them incorrectly at the back of the cable box?

    Thanks,

    Paula

  • Hi Pkrueger501,

You've come to the right place! SoonerAl has provided an excellent resource page for you. Once you've connected the cable box to the TV, make sure your TV is on the correct input setting.
