Brand new Contour rebooting!

I have a brand new Contour - just installed today. In the past 4 hours it has rebooted 5 TIMES for no reason. Sometimes it's when I'm changing channels, but other times the remote was not touched. How do I fix this issue????

    I apologize for the delay. Did you have a professional install or a self install? Is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver? Is the power cord plugged into a wall outlet or a surge protector?

    Professional. Wall to receiver. Surge protector. I've read about using wall outlet, yet I do not want to be responsible if lightning strikes and ruins the Contour. It's also a refurbished unit.

    I have been having the same issue, random reboots with the box not being used.  You are not alone.  Since the tech came out and fixed some of the pixel and sound issues.

    Are you having issues with only one receiver? If so, is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver? Is the receiver plugged into an electrical outlet or a surge protector?

    One Receiver.  Connected to Surge protector.  Had Tech out  three times this month seems it was the contour box and maybe the exterior cox connection.   Waiting to see if the last fix and a new box fixes problem.  Thanks for your response.

    If the issue continues, please move the electrical cord to the outlet to verify the outcome.

    Thanks  no random reboot .... but now I have dvr Issues...I have dvr service which I pay for,  It quit or I can,t access it with my remote

    Could it be the remote ?
