Arris DVR Page Up/Down on Universal Remote

We have an Arris DVR and a Harmony Hub remote. For the last few months we have used the Page Up/Page Down buttons for Skip Forward and Skip Back. I have them programmed on my Harmony remote and they worked just fine. A little over a week ago they stopped working on the Harmony remote but not the Arris remote. I have double checked my programming and everything looks correct. I tried training the Harmony Hub for the commands but they appear to be other than IR because it can only learn IR commands.

    Hi Fr33fall,

    I’m hoping that some of our other Forum users will jump in here and help us get to the bottom of this for you. I know we have a few audio/video gurus among us who are familiar with programming Harmony remotes!

    I'm not sure why the Harmony remote would stop functioning correctly, unless it is capable of automatically downloading firmware updates that change or overwrite your programming. Is it possible to reset the Harmony remote to the default settings and reprogram it?

    I wiped the programming on the Harmony and programmed from scratch last night, but that did not fix the issue. I reached out to Harmony and they asked if the Page Up/Page Down commands do not work on the remote and the smartphone app. They don't work either way so they thought I could teach the command in Harmony's Learn mode. I tried that but it appears the Arris remote does not use IR because it never worked for me.

    It boggles my mind why it just stopped working one day after working perfectly for months. I didn't notice any software upgrades on either my DVR or Harmony system.

    Hi Fr33fall,

    The XR11 Voice Remote has both RF and IR capabilities. The color of the LED light on the remote indicates whether the remote is operating in IR or RF mode. In paired RF mode, the remote blinks twice—once when a command is sent (GREEN), and again when the receiver confirms receipt (GREEN). If a command is sent in RF mode but the receiver does not confirm the command, the LED blinks GREEN, then RED. If a command is sent in IR mode, the LED blinks RED one time. To reset the remote to IR mode, press the Setup Key until the light turns Green, and then press 987.

    I have the same problem. I have put the XR11 in IR mode and was able to capture the new IR codes for page up and page down into the Logitech. After updating the Logitech remote it still will not function with these commands. Can someone please suggest a solution for the Page Up and Page Down function?

    UPDATE: I deleted the device and added a Cisco XG1-A. I set up the "Activity" for watching TV and it works perfectly.
