Ads on screen

I lost 5 hours Tuesday because the cable box was in endless update.

Now I have an LG add appearing in the scene on my TV.  Also, Four to five others show up in "boxes" at the bottom of the screen.  There is no apparent rhythm to them coming and going.

What is happening?

    Hi, please provide some additional details. What is the model number for the cable box? Is this happening on any other cable boxes? Please reset the cable box by unplugging the power cord, wait a couple of minutes, then plug the power cord back in.
