Hi Updatetrouble. I completely understand your pain regarding the daily updating of the contour cable box. This is normal for it to update every day. You can certainly change the time that it updates so that it doesn't happen when you are watching it. That is what I had to do. The reason for the daily update is to ensure that all the information including any new programs or guide updates are done in a timely manner. I regret that this is frustrating.
