Minibox HD pink screen using HDMI
I just successfully installed my miniboxes (2 tv's) and got good HD channels & pictures.
However, when I power tv OFF and back ON, the screen shows pink tinted pictures on all channels.
Technicians (online and service call) say this is a HDMI compatibility issue they are seeing this with Emerson and my Hannspree brand tvs.
Minibox setup initially set up to my 1080i Wide resolution and works well, but when TV is powered back OFF/ON the pink screen shows and the minibox resolution setup shows resolution back to 480i Standard and with no capability to change.
If HDMI cable is disconnected and reconnected, tv will then show correct HD picture again, until tv is turned OFF/ON.
Technician say Cox is working this issue, but meanwhile the only solution offered by COX is to hook up minibox to tv using coax instead of HDMI --- but of course this means not having HD picture resolution !!
This certainly is not the "EASY INSTALLATION" advertised for introduction of the minibox!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions before I have to change cable provider to get my HD back ???

I had the same issue, mine ended up being a bad HDMI cable.

Check to see if your TV has a HDMI CEC enabled. If so, disable it. Looks like its not just a Cox problem. From the little bit of research I did, the CEC signal is bleeding over onto the DDC lines causing HDCP to fail. That is why a new cord will sometimes fix it, because the channels are better isolated. Its actually alot more complicated then I thought it would be before I started researching this thread. Check this page out, gives a good background on how HDMI works.

Thanks for suggestion; Sounds interesting, but cannot find any ref to CEC in manual, setup or menu on my Hannspree ST259.
TV works fine on initial setup or restart of minibox, but shows pink tint again if tv turned OFF and back ON.
Found that I can get picture back if I reconnect hdmi cable, or I use tv remote to change hdmi input from 1 to 2, and then back to 1. (The cox remote has a Input button but it does not allow change to input on tv, thus have to use tv remote -- so this is not a very efficient method using 2 remotes to get tv on each time !!!).
Also no change when I tried different hdmi cables, both tv hdmi inputs, and 2 cox miniboxes.

First thing I noticed is Hannspree no longer makes TV's, so their website is a mess. Second, I looked through the specs for the ST259 and I didn't see any mention of CEC or anything like CEC. HOWEVER I also didn't see any mention of the TV being HDCP compatible. Have you tried on a different TV? Your troubleshooting steps sound exactly what you would do to fix a HDCP problem. HDCP is just the encryption language that HDMI transfers the data by. The DTA and the TV have to constantly handshake, if a handshake is missed, the video is cut.

It has been nearly 3 weeks since this issue of HDMI compatibitily (pink screen). Has COX made any progress in resolving this issue?
With most channels now migrated over to digital, I am have less and less to watch on Cox cable.
Seems that this minibox introduction was a bit premature, as I hear Cox is having issues with more than onel brand of tv's.
A second problem has also shown since I picked up your Cox infrared extenders to use with the boxes, so that I could hide the box and wires: I have plugged the sensor into the box IR plug, but have no luck in it working with the Cox remote. I was told that the sensor was plug-and-play. Is there some sort of setup required to make the IR sensor work?

I'm in agreement with some of the others that it sounds like a HDCP handshake issue between the box and the TV. Do you have another TV you can try the box on? Do you have any other HDMI devices you can test connected to the same port on the TV? If all else fails it may be necessary for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.

Yes, successfully hooked up my camera via HDMI to tv. No problems on initial hookup, and again with tv power off/on again.
Cox sent out technician 3 weeks ago, when initial minibox install failed to pink screen. Told me that issue is happening with certain brands of tv's, and cox is working on fix, with promise that someone would get back to me - (I'm still waiting and meanwhile cox has removed almost all of my channels that were available on standard cable).

Your camera doesn't use HDCP or CEC.

OK - tried Sony Blue Ray player, and it works fine for tv off/on and blue ray off/on.

@BigErn,
Did you use the same HDMI cable to connect the blue-ray player that you used to connect the cable box?
