Download speed drops to ~30mbps on a 500mbps plan daily. Upload speed unaffected.
I noticed others have had this exact same issue in the past year. Download speeds constantly drop to 30 mbps on a 500 mbps plan. | Cox Community Some days the download speed will revert to what it should be. More often than not, nothing changes unless I reset the modem and router. Even then, the correct download speed only remains for a few minutes before reverting to ~30mbps. I'm paying $150/month for this. The services advertised are not being provided. Not even close.Polychronopolus9 hours agoNew Contributor II543Views1like28CommentsConstantly freezing!😡
Why, why, WHY do programs I'm watching on Cox constantly freeze while watching? It's annoying!!! The picture will freeze and then by the time it unfreezes, it has jumped ahead in the program. Why? I let a customer service rep talk me into getting the new cable box and it has been like this every since! The only thing that is constantly is my increased bill! I see why people cut the cord. After 23 years with Cox's shabby service, I think I'm DONE!SerenaReid11 hours agoVisitor II73Views1like5CommentsService outage
This is a statement more than a discussion. Lately it seems like our internet service is down more than it’s working. We are dependent on the service for work etc. Do we get a discount for all of the inconvenience caused by the loss of service? Cox seems ready to charge for any changes or upgrades in service.Hulti13 hours agoVisitor27Views0likes1CommentPotential Class Action - Phoenix/North Phoenix Arizona Internet Instability
Original Thread and Information Here - Potential Class Action - Phoenix/North Phoenix Arizona Internet Instability | Cox Community Several years later and we've still been battling this issue on and off. This past 3-5 months have been absolutely horrible. I'm currently in the data collection phase. I will be calling Cox today, as well as filing an FCC complaint again either tomorrow or Monday next week (04/21/2025). I'm curious if anyone else has been experiencing similar issues, and if so if you have any data collected on your end. I have spoken with an attorney who is willing to work with me (and others) on this issue. They have connections to the local new stations as well. To summarize - I've been told by the highest level Cox engineers that in my location, the "upload circuit" is over utilized and Cox will more than likely not spend the money to actually fix the problem. It seems like we keep getting band-aid fixes that address the issue for a few months, then the issue comes back. Lately, it's starting to greatly impact my business and my job and with prices steadily increasing, it's straight up unacceptable. What i'm currently experiencing again..is 100% packet loss, every hour on the minute that I first notice it. Example, if it happens at 9:30am, it will happen at 10:30am, then 11:30am, etc etc. Suddenly, it will go a few hours without doing it, then the minute will change to say 4:15pm, then 5:15pm, then 6:15pm. Rinse and repeat. This has been happening every day for the past few months. The 100% packet loss will happen for a duration of 1-2 minutes, sometimes 3/4/5mins. Example from this morning below: I'm located near 19th Ave and Union Hills in the North Phoenix area. I've heard many other people having similar issues recently via other apps and speaking with neighbors. I would like to know if you're experiencing something similar!brittrice0915 hours agoNew Contributor II149Views0likes9CommentsFreezing Regularly
For months now, we experience freezing on MSNBC and Padres channels. There may be others, but these seem to be the most problematic. We have Contour 4K modems for the TV’s with strong signals. Rebooting helps, but the issue returns after a few hours. We have a high-end system with Cox 2gig Internet, 8K and 4K TV’s, and strong WiFi connectivity.8Views0likes0CommentsLong time Cox customer . . . RUN AWAY FROM MOBILE
I have been a Cox home internet and landline phone customer for almost twenty years, and I am a loyal supporter. Their service in my state is excellent, especially compared to the competition. So I decided to take advantage of a Thanksgiving, 2024 deal. BIG MISTAKE. Long story short: a technical glitch on their end resulted in me not getting the special offer they advertised. I gave up on spending literally HOURS on the phone, going back and forth between tech support and the customer loyalty departments, but it is clear they are NOT ready to do Mobile service. The phone itself works fine, and we have no complaints about the cell service in our area, but hopefully we never need any tech support or other Cox service for the 2 years that we're stuck with this.jjnoel2 days agoNew Contributor305Views0likes7CommentsDisappointed
I just wanted to share my recent experience with Cox Mobile. I recently signed up for their cellular service, and during the sales process, I made it clear that I had an international trip coming up. The rep assured me there would be no issues — just call customer service and purchase a travel pass before the trip. Well, now I’ve found out there's actually a required 30-day grace period before I’m even eligible for international service. This was never mentioned upfront. I feel completely misled — a classic example of a dishonest sales tactic. To make matters worse, I contacted customer service and was told there's nothing they can do to resolve my issue. I’m now stuck traveling internationally with no cellular service. I was already skeptical about switching from Verizon, and now I’m locked into a 2-year contract with a company that clearly doesn’t prioritize transparency or customerjcavalloro13132 days agoNew Contributor53Views0likes2Comments- doxam2 days agoNew Contributor II51Views0likes3Comments
On demand episodes out of order
Why do so many channels/programs on demand list their episodes all out of order with multiple seasons/episodes jumbled together and sometimes there isn’t even an episode number listed so you have to Google the show for the number and name of the episode. Investigation Discovery is a prime example of this. Why can’t it be in chronological order?Knemecek3 days agoNew Contributor34Views0likes1Comment
