Cox System Updates Affecting DVR Recording
Apparently, Cox has been doing some kind of update and it is affecting DVR and Cloud recordings system wide. The effect is that my DVR will not schedule a future record of a program and the past scheduled recordings are not happening. When do you think this problem will be resolved? I checked my IP at mxtoolbox (dot) com due to not receiving authorization codes for other services. Mxtoolbox says my IPv4 address is blacklisted by Spamhaus Zen (IPv6 is not blacklisted). The reasons given are: CBL - You have contracted a virus or malware that is operating a botnet, either on your email server on a workstation behind the NAT - Continual delisting requests without eliminating the virus will result in permanent blacklisting XBL - (Spamhaus Exploits Block List) is a real-time database of IP addresses of hijacked PCs infected by illegal 3rd-party exploits, including open proxies PBL - Spamhaus PBL is a DNSBL database of end-user IP address ranges that should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to any Internet mail server except those provided for specifically by an ISP for that customer's use. None of this applies to me. I have contacted support and they are saying everything is fine on there end but clearly it is NOT because the original issue (receiving authorization codes from various websites). The cable box with DVR we had stopped working and I called tech support who sent a technitian to replace the box. I asked if my recordings will be accessbile and they said yes. The technitian replaced it with smaller set up box. And I asked about the recording and he said that they will be available and I can see them overnight. They did not and I called the tech support. They told me that my service was changed to cloud DVR and there is no way to access my old recordings. I am so upset about how this process was managed by COX. I escalated multiple times bewtween different departments and all I got was $40 credit and the supervisor hanged up my call saying that our conversation is out of control. I am so furious and frustrated with how COX handled the issue. All the digital assets I accumuated are taken away from me without being told. My Cox internet connection is via a legacy Arris NIU. The coax from the street connects to the Network port and the coax feeding my cable modem connects to the Home port. There are a couple of voice ports which are disconnected since I have my own VOIP provider and a separate box for that on my LAN. I have some noise on my network so I think removing this obsolete equipment and replacing it with a simpler junction box is probably a good idea. I think the NIU must provide some type of filtering and surge/lightning protection so I don't think you can just screw the two ends of coax together with a grounded coupler. I’ve been with COX four years and seven months the outages are weekly and sometimes two times a week for hours. There is NO decrease in my bill but the rates are steadily increasing. If this continues within the next few months I’ll have to look at another company for this service it’s mind boggling how this company’s service goes off and customers are left still having to pay full price. Give me the service I’m paying for which is not cheap by no means. Ordered an iPhone 16 + wireless line from cox. Changed my mid and requested to cancel. The agent on the phone did cancel it, but forgot to issue a return label for the iPhone. I have been to 3 different stores and they keep saying they don’t take returns for online orders. I spent about 4 hours being bounced around on the phone and they keep saying I have to return it to a store. I was even given a fake work number that did nothing when I presented it to the store. Can’t connect to internet.
I’m a new customer setting up my internet, but it won’t connect to my ps5. It keeps saying my internet service provider or my router is preventing my system from connecting. I’ve been chatting with customer service but he’s been useless so far. I have never had this issue but I just moved into new apartments and trying to connect to wifi with PlayStation and it says the router is preventing you from connecting.
