Worst company to work with ever do not use for home internet!!!!
Terrible service, constant disconnects and unreliable. Customer services doesn’t follow up and you need to describe situation over and over. Techs don’t show up on time or at all. Reps lie and say they will call back but won’t. Was told to behave by customer service when asking to speak with a supervisor after being on the phone for unresolved issues - RUDE! They don’t care about customers. Techs have been working on issue for over a week but service still is unrealiable. Pay for service that doesn’t work and they won’t refund. I use Ivanti secure access VPN for my work computer. Cox support has previously helped me setup a port forwarding to allow my VPN to connect over my panoramic wifi router. I got a new computer. the old port forwarding doesn't work, naturally. I tried setting up a port forward myself using the app, but that's not working either. chat support is unable to set up the port forward for me. Unauthorized Payment
I switched providers in Apr or May of 2024. My last payment to Cox was May 2024.Account should have been closed at that time. My bank account was debited for $113.13 on Feb 13, 2025. Chatted with Cox customer service on Feb 13 and they advised it was probably a technical error and they would refund my money. I never used automatic payment. I paid my bill through electronic payment that I set up each month. I don't understand how Cox could withdraw a payment from my account since I had not given them my banking information. Current balance $0.00 You paid $113.31 on February 13 Your service has been disconnected. ******************************************************************* Partial Transcript of chat with Cox when I inquired why payment was drafted from my bank account: Seen 10:25 PM I understand you, I have your account pulled up and I see payment was made today and also it got credited back on the account, No worries I will raise a ticket now for the refund so our team will contact you in 72 business hours and assist further, please stay connected I will share the ticket number with you. What was it for and how did it happen? I have checked with it maybe it was a technical glitch. NO to worry I am raising the ticket now please allow me 2 minutes., Thanks for your patience, I have raised the ticket successfully Here is the ticket number KSR000014864611, Apart from this is there anythibng else I can help you with? I need to be assured it won't happen again. I never used automatic payment and don't know how Cox had my banking info. I understand you, Not to worry i will add notes on your account so you will not face the issue again,. Doesn't Cox close customer accounts when the customer no longer uses their services? I took advantage of a cell promo from Cox. I needed a new device and had the new Samsung S25 ordered and shipped. After getting it I took it directly to the store to make the switch over. Jesus Gutierrez arranged everything and within minutes I had a new working phone and I bought new protectors also. Jesus was professional, pleasant, and engaging and he had those installed as well. After leaving I remembered I had a coupon for a free wireless charger w/purchase of those protectors so I returned to the store within 6 days to redeem. Jesus was unavailable but was informed they had no chargers available anyway and they didn't expect any in, but just one. I asked to have it but for unknown reasons it wasn't available. With no free charger I then decided to return the protectors and was informed by the staff once opened the accessories were not returnable and is printed on the receipt. However, the receipt also states that the specific brand name case and specific brand name protector had a 14 day return/refund policy. So it seemed extremely vague and really unclear. This is the absolute worst transaction I've ever experienced in buying a new device. Now After 7 days I simply want to return the device and cancel cell services. I recently moved from 500mbps to 1gig and, as a result, had to move to a new PW8 modem. My old model and speed was fine...was just taking advantage of a promotion. However, now that I've connected the PW8, which no longer has separate bands for 2.4 and 5G, some of my devices are having problems. 1 of 5 Roku Streaming Sticks I have is not connecting despite excellent signal strength. My plug-in extender connects apparently, but when I move to that network it freezes...perhaps it can't handle either the new speed or the mixed signal? Thoughts?
