Slingbox 500 Set Up Issues
I just had Cox Contour 2 installed with an Aaris AX013ANM DVR. I can't get the Slingbox to function because it cannot see the specific Aaris model. When I try other Aaris models, or other Cox models, the remote that the Slingbox loads will not operate the TV. Slingbox worked perfectly with the Verizon DVR and it was wired as follows: HDMI out from the DVR to the Slingbox HDMI in, HDMI out from the Slingox to the HDMI in on the TV. Also had component video cables from the Verizon DVR to the Slingbox. Any help in getting this working is greatly appreciated!!3.2KViews0likes2CommentsSlow bit rate on premium connection
Hi Cox, I pay for the premium internet speed. In most cases it works fine and I get a great result on Speedtest.net. However, when I connect to a slingbox on another providers network, my bitrate slows to a crawl. Sometimes slower than a dial up connection. To bypass the idiocy... I am a super-duper, highly qualified, highly paid, know what the *** I'm doing computer and network engineer. I am using a DOSCIS 3.0 modem. The port that is being used is 5201. The bit rate seems to start at a crawl, slowly climb to a marginally acceptable level then drops. Repeat. I'm in south Orange County and the slingbox is in north Orange County, CA. The slingbox in question has been known to consistently deliver 5 to 8K bit rate on a corporate, un-throttled network. Other services like Hulu and Netflix don't seem to be having any problem with bit rates during the same time frame. So, my question is: Do you guys throttle slingbox? Because you know I'm watching someone else's TV without paying for Cable TV in my own home? And please answer honestly knowing I can't cancel my Internet with you guys due to the cable companies monopoly on the wire. It would just help ease the frustration. Thank you.3KViews0likes4Comments
