Robocalls - Cox supports them!
It is obvious Cox does not care about its customers. If they did, they would figure out how to allow customs to get Nomorobo! Does anyone know if Cox makes money on robocalls? I just switch to Cox and I am regretting it. The robocalls are relentless!!!!! I'm looking into switching back to ATT.2.9KViews0likes2CommentsNOMOROBO STOPS UNWANTED ILLEGAL ROBO CALLS - WHY DOES COX NOT OFFER THIS FEATURE?
Cox Communications does not listen to its customers I have been one over for over 25 years and they will not listen to me or anyone on this issue. I suspect once they see this thread they will immediately lock it so that the thousands of customers who have a problem with robo calls (for which cox offers ancient non working solutions) cannot comment. Cox claims they cannot offer "Simultaneous Ring" which they can but simply refuse to do, if they tell you anything to the contrary its complete fiction. Every other voip company has it and all of them also offer nomorobo so that the calls we get from India etc. are blocked. Cox will say "sign up for the national do not call list". That will not work for you because the calls are from outside the USA. Cox knows this but does not care they just spew garbage at us. Cox will also say they have selective call blocking (they charge for this feature) and you can block up to 30 numbers or some nonsense. That also will not work even if you could block unlimited numbers you would get the same amount of robo calls always from a different number so here we can establish that cox is not consumer focused they are revinue focused they want to sell us a feature that does not even work. COX Corporate customer service was not helpful either they spew the same garbage at us. Now COX, do what you do best and lock this thread. Hide your heads in the sand like ostriches. Hide under your desks and pretend this is all going to just go away...28KViews0likes17CommentsRoboCalls, Spam, Telemarketing frequency increasing
In the past 3 months, our number of unwanted calls has increased by 150%. Cox solutions to address these annoying callers are anemic. And YES, I have registered at the DoNotCall website (another joke). I painfully tried the Call Blocking feature that was presented as $1 / month / line. Upon reviewing my bill, I was charged $4 / month for each of my home lines. I attempted to give it a try and quickly reached the 30 call number limit. The 30 number limit was not shared with me during my registration with Cox... Not only is the limit ridiculously low, trying to manipulate the service on a phone is a nightmare. Cox is far behind the times / technology on addressing Spam, RoboCalls, Telemarketing and Spoofing issues plaguing their customers. This is my first post to Cox, but I see that I am far from alone in my frustration with the lack of tools to block unwanted calls on my home lines. My next step will likely be to drop my home phones and use cellular phones that do address this more effectively. This has been a very successful, less expensive solution used by many of my friends and family. Cox, please listen and do something! I have scheduled the install of the upgrade to VOIP telephony and the combo modem/router above. Will this enable the "simultaneous ring" feature that is needed to get nomorerobo to work? The constant barrage of robots calls, and Cox's unwillingness to address the issue is frustrating. Can I get nomorerobo via another provider?2.5KViews0likes1CommentWhy no defense against spam calls, and robocalls??
I have a Cox account that includes both internet, and phone service, but I am slammed by constant, endless spam phone calls despite being on the "Do Not Call" list, and I am sick of answering the phone 20 times a day to find out that it is another robot, recorded message calling me. I would love to be able to defend against this with the NoMoRobo software, but Cox does not support it.... This is frustrating because Cox Cable has repeatedly raised my monthly rates for service, and they seem to be completely detached from the real world as far as features go. PLEASE Cox, join the rest of the world in the 21st century, and stop blocking EVERYTHING except spam!!17KViews0likes17CommentsCaller ID City, ST-no one there. Multiple calls a day
We receive 5-15 calls a day where the caller ID is a city and state only, and sometimes just The Hartford (up to three times a day). No one is ever there or leaves a message. I have tried to answer to find out who they are, but no answer, just empty air. I ignore them, but it is a time waster and interrupter and leaves us scrambling when it is a wanted caller. Most calls are daytime/evening. They come from all over the country, NV, CA, FL, SD and most common is CT where we are located. Is this a condition of internet phone, spamming, robo calls? Is there anyway to combat it or report it?8.2KViews0likes2CommentsNomorobo - the solution for us
Check my profile for details. The inability to use Nomorobo was a key decision point which led us to Vonage instead of Cox, when we abandoned Verizon land-line service. Yes, from time to time we have to report a new robo-phone-number to Nomorobo, but that's no trouble compared to the increasing number of robocalls per day prior to the changeover. PS i don't work for Nomorobo, but I am very happy with the results!4.3KViews0likes1CommentUnwanted calls, robo calls, etc
I have been reading many comments from people who are co thmplaining about unwanted calls and how to stop them. Many people are registered with the DNS (myself included) and this is not working for anyone. There is a really easy solution which I am surprised nobody has even mentioned. My phone announces whomever is calling by voice, caller ID, etc. If it is someone I know I can answer it. If it is someone that I do not recognize but when they start to leave a message and I do want to talk to this person then again I answer it. In this way I am not talking to sales persons or scammers. END OF THE PROBLEM. A very easy solution to a never ending problem. I always have said that if someone wants to talk to me they will leave me a message and if not then just hang up like to many of these callers always do anyway. So it is not taking up my time answering calls that I do not want.6.9KViews0likes4Comments
