Internet Connection Drops after High Usage
Hey everyone. Been having this issue for about a week now. I do a LARGE amount of uploading/downloading every day. I do video production for a living and am constantly uploading new content and downloading. Here in the last week or so I have switched all my online drive storage over to Google and have been migrating all my data. Drive has an option to download files and sync to my system drive, so I have been downloading all the content again to my comp. After about an hour of constant downloading, all of the sudden my connection will just shut off completely. My question is, does COX have a limit to how much can be downloaded/uploaded? Do I need to switch my plan to accommodate for these factors? Really frustrating hoping a download will complete when the connection kicks off after a while and I find that only a few files downloaded.2.4KViews0likes1CommentLinksys AE3000 on a SBG6580 Modem
I am having HUGE issues with my internet using my Linksys AE3000. My internalwireless adapter works on my laptop without any hangups or drops at all. My AE3000 when plugged in works for 5 minutes and freezes and has to be reset on both my desktop and laptop using newest drivers and old drives with doing fresh installs each time. I sent in 1 AE3000 to be replaced and the new one does the same thing. I even had it plugged into my laptopright next to the modem and still did it. Then when I unplugged it and turned on the laptops internal wireless the laptop worked fine. I have reformatted, released and refreshed my IP, direct connected cable modem to cable hardline with NO splitters, replaced AE3000 Unit, tested on twodifferent computers which did not work, Internal laptop adapter works fine,uninstalled/deleted drivers/registrys and reinstalled fresh copys.Linksys support was worthless. Drops and Lag.
So I've been having some connection issues since early April whenever I started the Cox HSI service. The connection intermittently drops out. Sometimes the modem restarts (I'm on my third modem). I believe the upstream is having problems because it seems to only happen whil either playing xbox, which requires sending information back and forth constantly, or doing something of a similiar nature on any other device such as uploading videos or other information on my computer or phone. My connection is going through the Cisco DPQ-3212 into an ASUS RT-N56U. The problem persists even while connected directly to the modem, xbox and computer. I have had 6 Techs come out so far, the next one is coming out this Sunday. All but one of the Techs said that there is nothing that they could do in regards to the connection drop out and advised that a maintenance team would have to come out and replace the line, which has still yet to be done. Is this the problem? Should the line be replaced and all be fine? Or is there another issue outlined somewhere? I'll upload some modem specs later on. If any other information is needed just let me know. Also, I have searched and searched for answers on forums including dslreports and can not find any resolve.11KViews0likes4Comments
