Here might be a good place. Re: Mini Box to laptop via hdmi Thank you for your response. Very helpful posts, and I appreciate that! Makes sense that my "hdmi OUT" won't be able to process incoming tv signals. I have a HD Homerun tv tuner, which I use with cox, so - great suggestion - why not just drag setup to the garage. I started on that project but had problems with my windows 7 desktop, so I scrapped that plan, and went with the easiest solution: https://www.cox.com/residential/tv/watch-tv-online.html Fortunately, my windows 10 laptop gets a good enough signal so I can simply watch streaming TV in the garage. Great suggestions! Thank you all. Mini Box to laptop via hdmi I have a coax outlet in my garage, but I don't have a TV out there. I do have a laptop with an HDMI port. I would like to plug in the Cox mini box, using the hdmi connection provided, into my laptop so I can watch TV. Basically, I just want my laptop to function as a TV screen. I will change channels and volume on thee mini box with the cox-provided remote. Just looking for plug & play, so I can simply view TV on my laptop screen rather than a TV (which I don't have). Is this possible? Any suggestions how to do this? Thanks!
