Re: Severe Package Loss main problem for mine is that it is an intermittent problem and cox wont give me a phone number for their field team(called netops here). So they drive out plug in equipment say"oh look its fine" and drive home. To top it off i keep being told by the low level tech support that i will get a call from escalations/field team but never do(been told that over 5 times still yet to get a call. Where i live its behind a small hill and there is no cell service and cox is the only net provider. If they had fiber I wouldn't have this feedback problem but they opted to go with fiber/coaxial instead so at the house level there is feed back with unshielded/out of spec cables in someone else's house(aka neighbors even blocks away) then I get affected. that wouldn't happen if they offered fiber. With the probably 30,000+$ they spent on sending techs to my house they could have just run a line 2000 feet down to the next box to bypass the problem and saved a lot of money. I would cancel my 35 year running account in 1 second flat if google fiber was out here. Better speeds more consistency and lower latency, and usually far cheaper too. Re: Severe Package Loss been having the same problem for years. It looks as though its happening past the first hop for you which means its VERY likely that its not in the home but on the street. GL getting it fixxed ever...ive had over 20 techs out and field elevation out 3-4 times https://imgur.com/vI7NIFothats my net tonight.... Re: TWO YEARS OF INTERMITTENT INTERNET OVER 20 TECHS STILL PROBLEMS https://imgur.com/CiGB9gF This Morning 23.8% packet loss over the course of an hour internet completely unusable. TWO YEARS OF INTERMITTENT INTERNET OVER 20 TECHS STILL PROBLEMS ok so i have dozens of techs out because of they absolutely *** way cox tech support is set up Here is the procces 1. Call support 2. cant scheduel net ops so have to scheduel tech 3. tech comes out to house for 2 mins then scheduels net ops 4. i wait because i have no way to know if net ops ever showed up and no way to contact them to let them know the problem persists. 5 i get tired of being unable to use the internet for games/shows/email/browsing/work 6. call tech support....they cant scheduel net ops 7. rinse and repeat, refer to step 2 We have replaced our equipment in the house 3+ times Replaced the cable from the modem to the splitter(we only have internet no other connections) Replaced the cable from the splitter to the street THE ISSUE IS NOT IN THE HOUSE IS BEYOND THE BOX here are some screen shots of my internets uptime https://imgur.com/N7zsJFp https://imgur.com/N7zsJFp I was told 2 different times by a super visor @ cox phone tech support that i would be getting a call from net ops to work with me on this problem. No calls yet. Re: 15+ years of connectivity issues still not resolved need high level help well, I live in San Diegoit hasn't rained for almost 9months lol. Also if you look at my screenshots I am losing the data past my modem but we have had probablyaround 20-30 techs out(not including the 5 that came to run a new line from the wall to the street). How many techs does it take to figure this out? Re: 15+ years of connectivity issues still not resolved need high level help it IS possible that other people are having the same issue. Its a large housing community but they houses are pretty spread out and I live at the end of a cul de sac. Also for the average user just streaming Netflixor amazonprime tv they prebuffer so some disconnectionsaren't even noticed. What imdoing on the net(or want to do but can't) streaming(upload) and playing games etcthese seemingly small disconnectionsculminate into a hugely aggravating problem. So there really isn'tmuch traffic on my street(maybe about 800 feet down the street but its also not heavily trafficked. Maybe 30-50 cars per day. On my cul de sac probably about 10 cars per day. The box had a new line run to it a few years ago since they couldn'tfigure out what was wrong. I'll ask the tech in a few days what its grounded to. What are a CPE and DLSAM? I probably know more about networking modems routers and how all of this is installed than 100 average COX tech support reps combined due to how much time I spent trying to resolve this. It is really disheartening when I ask them if they know what a ping or a traceroute is and the answer is always no. As soon as I hear that I know my problem won't be resolved :( Re: 15+ years of connectivity issues still not resolved need high level help definitely wired the house is 3300 square feet there is nothing near the office the modem is in. AC and water heater(which we never use we have solar water heaters) are 100ft away. Ill try plugging it into a surge protector(brand new) but when i run pings imlosing it past the first 2 hops(which would be my router then modem) so its more likely its the box or something past that. but the fact is we mostly have trouble in the morning and evenings(mostly evenings) leads me to the hypothesis, there is more data than the system can handle duringpeak hours down the line from me. Re: 15+ years of connectivity issues still not resolved need high level help also, it happens whether there is splittersor routers(or not) and resettingmodem doesn'tfix it(its been 17 years of this I can't think of anything I haven'ttried lol if there is a cable or connector I have tried every combination of them. this is worse than when i had to do all the work to figure out that my modem at my office was being uploaded docsis1 rather than 3. I'mnot sure a house call can fix my problems since we have had techs out over 30 times and they still haven'tresolved the issue. (including supervisors and districtsupervisors) I want to say this is a hardware or routing issue that is not on my property. If a customer has had dozens of techs out and the problem is unresolved what is the NEXT STEP? Especiallyif the problem doesn'tseem to be on their property. What do I do when having a tech come out doesn't do anything? Re: 15+ years of connectivity issues still not resolved need high level help this also happens mostly in the evenings although sometimes it continues all day.
