ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: New Data Caps >(Hopefully this gets to the right people to possible make some policy changes within the company) Ha, no. If it does get to the right people, they'll either print it out and use it as toilet paper or just laugh at it. They're very good at completely ignoring everything that customers say and giving virtually zero effort trying to make us feel better:http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/5/t/18135.aspx That's 18 pages, with a few blatant lies from Cox, some platitudes and marked as solved even though literally nothing was done to solve anything. Re: Data Cap Hello, friends from California. You're welcome to join us in this giant thread of being ignored, lied to, misled, and technology that advances backwards. Re: Data Cap I just wanted to remind everyone about this thread. Marked as "solved" even though nothing has been done to alleviate our concerns. As far as I can tell, not even an apology from a single Cox rep. Please, get involved. Find out which of your local politicians takes bribecampaign donations from companies like Cox and vote against them. Maybe some day our internet will catch up to first world countries like Bulgaria. Re: Data Cap I finally got a letter in the mail from my FCC complaint. It was garbage. 99% of it was already in the first email that warned me about the extor, err, overage fees. However, it did say that internet use was doubling every two years. You know what has happened to my service in the 3 years I've had it? First, the promotional period ended and my bill skyrocketed. Then, they started enforcing data caps. No doubling in speed. No halving of cost. No doubling of data cap. As far as I can see, whoever wrote that letter is admitting to providing bad service that increases in price, but actively ignores customer demands. This is disgraceful. Re: Cox using data caps to fund running new cable for megablast network Nah, the only thing the data caps are funding is bonuses for execs. This won't speed up infrastructure upgrades in any way. Re: Data Cap Nah, I don't really care about the warning emails anyway. I'll switch providers before getting a single overage fee. Just thought other people should be warned. Re: Data Cap I got my first overage warning emails today. I got the 85% warning and the 100% warning at exactly the same time. So they're nowhere near accurate or fast enough to be even a tiny bit helpful. Those warnings are just plain useless. Re: Data Usage Time coxsucksbauz said: When will the millennials wake up and realize that big corporations like Cox are raking people over the coals. Sheeples. I think the only millennials that are content with the situation are ones that live in places with competition like google fiber. Anyway, victim blaming doesn't help anything. Re: Data Usage Time This really should be clearly stated somewhere official. If you're going to charge us just because you can, we should at least be able to verify you're charging the right amount. Re: Data Cap One thing I just realized is that I haven't seen a single excuse from Cox about why the data caps are getting implemented. Not even the dishonest "to reduce network congestion". No mention of how 4k streaming is popular and causing problems, no mention of infrastructure failing. It's very literally just higher bills because they said so.
