Yes, that did fix the clock but I was wondering if this happened to other boxes. It also made me wonder if the box was actually getting any of the updates at night. Logically, if it were getting the updates, the clock would have been correct as it was on my other box. I intend to keep a closer eye on the clock from here on out. It just never occurred to me that there would be a problem with the time since that was actually something the SA 8300 series never did. Havingan incorrect time ona device that is set to record is not good... Re: How do I set up email on my Android device? I have to totally agree with mjgolden! I couldn't have said it better myself. I am rolling over my personal e-mail off of my work email which uses an exchange server. I have had my cox email but never used it because it was pretty much substandard. I "assumed" that after 15 years is had improved. Boy was I wrong! I want to access off of multiple devices also and also have access to folders. I am simply floored that Cox is STILL using POP insteadof IMAP by now. Seriously? When will Cox change over to IMAP so they can compete in thecurrent environment? I find it pretty pathetic that I will have to pull my email into Yahoo just to make it "work" right? What happened to "MY friend in the digital age"? Clock on Cisco 8642 losing time I have noticed that my programs that I am recording were missing part of the beginning of the show. I looked closely at the clock (this one is in the bedroom) and noticed that it was 3 minutes slow! Yes, I do turn my box off every night. The other box I have in the living room which is the same one, never loses any time. Is this a software issue? Is the box not getting updates every night? Re: DVR expander connecting to the eSata port Thanks mike007! I iwll keep checking this forum to see if anyone gets one to work and names the one or Cox begins to sell or rent them. Re: DVR expander connecting to the eSata port The hard drive I have actually advertises that it worked on Tivo and Scientific Atlanta which was why I gave it a go several years back. Those hard drives we too small for much HD recording. It is a 500G WD My DVR Expander. I saw those claims too so I was optimistic that it would work. Not too much detail in those though. Maybe one of themwill see these posts and share that information. Geeze, too bad I had never gotten youwhen I would mention that I even had one. Most on tech support hadn't even heard of them. Should I assume thatCox will rent them and not sell them? I would rather just out right buy on instead of going the rental route. Thanks again mike 007! Re: DVR expander connecting to the eSata port I kind of thought that might be the case mike007. I am sure hoping thesoftware will eventually make that port active and usable. Thanks for keeping me in mind when/if you get any more information! DVR expander connecting to the eSata port I just got the new whole home DVR on Saturday, July 21st. I was curious if the eSata port would ever support a DVR expander. I used a WD Expander on the Scientific Atlanta 8300 and it worked great. I was sure hoping that since Cisco bought Scientific Atlanta that there was hope. When we hooked up the DVR expander let's just saythe new Cisco box was not at all amused :-( It is the 8642 fyi. Has anyone else tried it with any luck? Other than that I am liking the box a lot! It is nice to be able to watch recorded programs on either box! Oh, one other small thing, will it ever go into screen saver mode like the 8300 in the future?
