Repair My External Cable Box I called Cox at the beginning of Feb. to report that my external cable box had been pushed over by the snow plow. Someone came out on Feb 6 from Cox and told me they would have to send in a work order to have it repaired. Another neighbor has the same issue. After a couple of weeks, I called Cox and was assured that I had not been forgotten but no time frame for repair could be given. It is now Feb. 23 and still no word. This is a very poor response time. I have been a subscriber to Cox for 31 years and never seen such poor followup. Re: Can't Access Cox Acct Roanoke It is working now Re: Can't Access Cox Acct Roanoke As an addendum to the above post, I have discovered I can sign in and out, but cannot access email on either the PC or phones. I continue to get disconnected when I call support. Can't Access Cox Acct Roanoke As of this morning, both of our cell phones tell us our Cox passwords are incorrect. I deleted the acct from one of our phones and reentered it but to no avail - still says the password is incorrect. I also cannot access our accts online with my PC. Further, I keep getting disconnected when I call tech support. Could someone let me know what is going on here? Re: Experience with Netgear CG4500BD I can't speak to this particular model. However, I purchased the Netgear CG3000D over a year ago and have been well pleased with it. If I recall correctly, I just made a phone call to Cox to provision the unit and all was well. I have had only intermittent wifi drops with it. Interestingly, I haven't had any wifi issues since I had the Contour box removed from my TV service. However, I guess that's another issue for another thread later! :) Re: Cox Speed Test - Latency Test Error Apparently, I have been using an outdated link to do the speed test. It is now working well so disregard the original post. Cox Speed Test - Latency Test Error For the past week or so, I have been unable to run the Internet Speed Test when logged in to the Cox site. I receive a Latency Test Error. I can run the same test athttp://my.verizon.com/services/speedtest/ and it works fine. The reason I find this interesting is the Verizon site also uses Cox Communications 70.188.18.87 as their source. Their server is Reston, VA and the Cox site uses Northern Virginia as the server. Their is no link on the Cox site by which I can change the server location. I seem to recall that such a link used to exist but I can't find it. I live in Roanoke, VA and would appreciate any insights into fixing this small issue. Thanks in advance!! Program Guide for Motorola DVR Model DCX3400-M Around 5 hours ago a Cox technician installed a Motorola DVR Model DCX3400-M. I am trying to set up some series recordings but noticed that the guide only goes out about one week in time. It seems that all the data should be downloaded to the system by this time. My past DVRs have data on the guides that extend out for two weeks duration. I called Cox and they sent a signal to the box but that didn't change anything. Is this normal for this box or does it just need more time to download the data for these programs? Thanks in advance!! Re: Cancelling the phone from package We did just this about one year ago. When I called Cox, the representative indicated that we would actually pay more for splitting up the bundle. I found it outrageous that having one less item would cost me more. A couple of months later, we dropped by the local Cox store and the representative there indicated we would pay about $20 less. It was a good move for my wife and me. We have our separate cell phones and never have to worry about telemarketers, political calls, etc.
