ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsstorage on the web I used to use cox web storage to hold files that others wanted to see that were too big to email, etc. Of course, I lost all those files when cox removed that feature and only notified the top level email address for each account that it was going to do so. I would like to throw a few files up on the web again, but the only way to do that seems to be to install some humongous thing that might backup my entire system. Is there some simple way to just upload a file like there used to be? Thanks. Re: files stored in previous file storage gone? Yes, I also lost all my files. Cox apparently sent a notification email, but only to the top level email address, which is not used on my account, so the first notice of this was the loss of files. Re: Cox Webmail and IE Cupcake, Here's another vote for using Firefox. IE just has so many problems plus it's less secure. Re: Downloading Webmail to Outlook The only way I know to do this is to cc myself on all email I send when I am using just webmail not thunderbird. Then it will wind up in your inbox when you use Outlook, but at least it's something. I would also like to know if there's a real answer to your question. Another Cox email outage - bungled handling of same. So, I try to read my email via thunderbird this morning, and the connection repeatedly times out. **! another Cox email outage, I think. I wonder how much email I will lose this time. Then I try to read email on the Cox website and get the blank page we were getting during last week's outage, but, oh, there is a message saying this is a planned downtime. Here's a clue, Cox. You showed that you were able to email every Cox customer just a few days ago when you sent the email about all backed up messages having been sent. Why do you not send in advance an email to every Cox customer when you know in advance that you will be taking a system down later for maintenance??????? Since this impacted residential POP traffic only I'm thinkin' that Cox residential email is a third party outsourced branded service by Cox. so how I doing so far Becky? :) They pretty much admitted that awhile back when they said they were working with something like "email package vendors" on the problem. That's what happens when a company outsources, they have little internal expertise when things go wrong. Re: Banner Ad in Webmail That Spawns Endless New Pages I don't see this stuff in Firefox. I have Flashblock and AdBlock Plus installed. Every so often I turn them off for one reason or another, and I can't believe the garbage that's inflicted on people, insane flashing ads all over the place. Thats typically where you get your max speed trudy said: On an associated note, I ran a speed test a few times this weekend when I had no email to read... and discovered I was getting Essential speeds even though I was paying for Preferred, so I had them downgrade my account to Essential. I notice no difference and am saving $15 a month, which I'd been unknowingly throwing away for speed I wasn't getting. I believe so. I'm in RI and it was using Boston. And since I see no difference in functioning since the change to Essential, I assume it was a realistic measurement. Is blocking not working on the emails being retrieved from the outage? Is blocking not working on the emails being retrieved from the outage? I did not realize that I would be getting emails notifying me of EVERY reply to a thread I posted in this forum. I have now unsubscribed from each thread but have gotten about 60 emails from before the unsubscribe and more are coming in. So I blocked the address cox-notification@coxforums.com but the darn things are still coming in - is blocking not working on these retrieved emails?????? Re: Cox "Ultimate" internet upgrading speeds?
