ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: EMAIL ERROR John2222 - I have an email list of an organization with about 220 emails and it still won't send that many emails but I tried to see what the max was now. It seems to be 40. I tried 50 and it won't send. I can live with 40 even though it is a pain to break apart into several emails when you have a large list. Cox assumes a large emailing is spam. Re: EMAIL ERROR I haven't heard whether they corrected the limit of over 9 addresses in email, but I sent an email this morning to 11 people and it took with no errors. They didn't give any notification when they changed the policy so why would we think they would send out notifications that they fixed it and admit they were wrong? Has anybody else tried sending emails to more than 9 people to see if it now works? Re: EMAIL ERROR I'm the one that started this thread and am glad so many other people had the same problem - lots of good comments. Hopefully Cox can resolve this issue. Meanwhile I will not use Cox - am using gmail that has no restrictions. Since I'm not using Cox and if there is not a fix to this problem I may think about getting rid of Cox altogether - internet, phone, cable, etc. My problem was sending outgoing emails to multiple addressees. Not feasible or efficient to limit addressees to 9 people. I run a Pop Warner program locally, state board, etc. with over 250 families and over 70 coaches that I do send routine emails. I use Thunderbird, release 52.6.0 as my email client - it is up to date and I do not want to stop using it as I have all my contacts, saved folders, etc. for years. Using Cox Webmail is not an option. My outgoing server setting are correct using POP. As I said, hopefully Cox can fix this or they will lose a lot of customers! Tina Re: EMAIL ERROR This change by Cox is not reasonable for the average user. Can't believe people are having problems with Outlook. Mine was the same but I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird with Cox. I feel the same as you in using Outlook. Thunderbird is very, very similar to Outlook - I have tons of files/folders, calendar, address books, etc. I had Thunderbird set up for my Cox email and a while ago had set up a gmail account email when Cox was doing strange things a few months ago. When I open Thunderbird I can see my Cox email account and my gmail account. If I try to send to more than 9 people with my Cox email - does not work as I originally said when I started this thread and same as lots of others have said. But if I use my gmail account using Thunderbird I have absolutely no problem. I'm in the process of copying all my folders, calendar, contacts etc. to gmail and stop using Cox. I run a youth sports organization and routinely send emails to way more than 9 people - anywhere from 12 to over 200 people. I told the Cox rep this and that lots of customers use their email the same way and are legitimate, not sending spam. As usual, Cox doesn't listen to their customers and their needs. Re: EMAIL ERROR Totally agree. Just in the last couple of days it's been extremely annoying. I frequently send emails to more than 9 people at a time and they're not spam or junk! I've been using gmail the last couple of days but it is annoying because I do have all my folders and saved emails in Cox/Thunderbird. Just have to figure out how to export them. I have a lot of folders. Anybody hear anything from Cox? I received a phone call from a rep answering my trouble ticket and she knew nothing about the change and said she'd look into it but have not heard back. Re: EMAIL ERROR Agree on being civil, but it is difficult when Cox doesn't even notify anybody on this huge change. And how much patience should we have before just dumping Cox and trying to find another provider? Re: EMAIL ERROR John - Very well said! Ridiculous to have them just say to use their Webmail instead of our own email clients that we prefer and have been using. What you had to do is ridiculous. I did think of that, but I routinely send a group email to over 200 families and even breaking my list down to 9"s still would take a long while when previously I did it in a couple of minutes with one email. COX - ANSWER! DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SOLUTIONS! Re: EMAIL ERROR Becky - Insane! Completely understand spam controls, etc. but a lot of people routinely send to large groups of people for legitimate reasons. For example - I run a youth sports organization that has over 250 kids and over 75 coaches. I routinely send emails to those families and coaches. Sending by Webmail is not great as you have to type in each email address and I don't have the time to do that for 200 plus some addresses. In my email client I can copy a list from an excel file and paste it into the To block in seconds instead of typing each email. There has to be a way around this. Please advise. Tina Re: EMAIL ERROR This is utterly ridiculous! Limiting emails to 10 addressees is not feasible. I run a sports organization and am on the board of another organization and routinely send group/mass emails to coaches, staff, families, etc. and addressees are anywhere from 5 to over 200 people. I've always been able to do this until a few days ago! Nice that Cox doesn't even inform people of changes. Reinforces my strong dislike of Cox - from their cable services to now email. Need to start looking for another provider. Almost all my friends no longer use Cox. Now I know why. There has to be a resolution to this. Tina Re: EMAIL ERROR CarolLM - I did that already. I read and did everything I can think of. My settings are okay and I can send thru gmail. But if I try to send to a large number of people using my Cox email it won't send and I get that server error message each time. I used to be able to do this and now can't. It's not my email client if I can send thru gmail. It's a problem with Cox. Any other suggestions?
