Call in ask for a line tech to be scheduled to come to the house. Cox’s line techs are better than their install techs. They will go to the box, they will go to the pole, and they will check your ingress on your line. If it’s higher than 14 they are the only ones who can get the issues resolved. Been dealing with cox for over 25 years, and it’s always the same…. Ingress….ingress….ingresss Re: Technicians don't know what packet loss is Ask for a Line supervisor to come out. You will need to be escalated to Tier 2 support when you call in to get this. when the line supervisor comes out show him three things: 1. speed test ran directly on a laptop or computer connected DIRECTLY TO THE MODEM or Router, nothing else. 2. Pull your S2N logs from your modem (easy to do if you own an Arris Modem). It will point to an Ingress on the Modem not being right. 3. have the line supervisor perform an Ingress test at the pole, not at your house box. If it matches what your S2N ratio log is, it will support you having an ingress issue and then they will fix it. Tech 1s are just for replacing runs from pole to house, and for making sure the modem has been reset. That’s it. Re: Looks like things are bad again: Gigablast speedtest 330/35!! Just 10 mins ago my Modem somehow reset itself ( was not a power outage or blip, because we were watching tv and then all of a sudden, Directtv Now went off). Figured it was Cox. So i got up and power cycled my router and my Cox alarm router, because the alarm tablet kept dinging. Everything is back up now, but my speeds are the same, 401MBPS / 36Mbps. Just FYI Re: Looks like things are bad again: Gigablast speedtest 330/35!! I have forwarded this thread over to your team as requested. Today's Speed Test is 357Mbps/35Mbps Re: Looks like things are bad again: Gigablast speedtest 330/35!! Kevin, I had the Contracted Technician come out yesterday. He hooked up his vivrant box to Coax, and said it was a line problem. He went out to the Pole and tested again there, and continued to say it was a line problem. No ETA on when it is getting fixed, nor could he tell me when or if some one would contact me further. Today I sit at 401Mbps/37Mbps. Re: Looks like things are bad again: Gigablast speedtest 330/35!! And verified today's Speed test: 390/35. Re: Looks like things are bad again: Gigablast speedtest 330/35!! I'm reporting things here, because Cox wants a record of everytime I have problems with my GigaBlast service. You can search for my "Cox Gigablast Money Grab" thread to see parts 1-3 of my trials with this service. As for the High Returns...again I've had Line Tech, Field SuperVisor Tech, Head Installer Tech, all to my house and they swear that as their little box states all is normal we show Gig to the house blah blah, but yet none of them can tell me what is causing the "Critical Return signal issue" only to say it a probably a problem at the node, but they can't tell me who is going to fix that. I've had all lines replaced from Pole to the house box, from house box to the modem. no Splitters exist in the House box, no splitters exist in the house. All I have is Cox internet and Alarm. Its a straight shot. Looks like things are bad again: Gigablast speedtest 330/35!! The Not So Gigablast Saga continues. Woke this morning trying to watch Netflix before going to work, recieved timeout errors, that usually is the sign that internet is acting up again. Ran consecutive speedtest hard wired to mdem...average of four tests was 330/35. Called it in to Cox, they did a modem reset, retested twice best I got is 385/36 Tech said that the "return signal is "Critical" and that they have to send someone out. Here we go again.....! Re: GigaBlast just a money grab? Worse two weeks of my life So after having I guess the Engineering Team look at it, the Cox Service Tech came back out, and took some readings. Apparently, and FINALLY, I get a straight answer: That Cox is having issues with the Gigablast rollout, and that the best speeds for my area right now are between 480mbps-600mbps. That at this time I will not get above that due to the age of my Node. When I question why it is that areas such as Yukon and Northeast Oklahoma City are getting 700-925mbps, I was told that it is because they are on newer separate Nodes. So at this point I'll have to decide if I want to continue on this roller coaster or not,or go back down to Ultimate, where I was getting a consistent 360mbops/35mbps. And for the record, my current speed test this morning, after having a "mysterious 20 minute outage" I had to call in for, is 498/35.
