What is the status of my escalated trouble ticket?
On August 7, 2017 the chat tech stated he would escalate my ticket and gave me the number CUI000005006348. Since then I haven't heard a word and the problem still exists. That problem is: Cox email is blocking many emails from getting to me, for no reason I can understand. I have told Cox webmail to remove all Spam filters, added all the proper recipients to my address book and/or contacts. Especially frustrating because OBVIOUS spam continues to come through, the stuff with Amazon or PayPal misspelled, but the good emails from NY Times, Costco, Rolling Stone, etc., are blocked. Unable to contact a tech chat today, it says all techs are busy. Apparently Cox no longer has an email address or phone number to call for support, at least nothing I can find on the site. Help would be appreciated. I have stuck with Cox as prices escalated largely because your support was so good. Yeah, I get it. In fact, I don't answer my home or mobile phone unless I recognize family or friend on the caller ID. I also have the 250-# blocker phone, but if I'm blocking a number that's just being used by a crook for a short time, it's not going to do me any good. I'm just blocking an innocent number. Really frustrating to hear from Cox that "There is nothing you can do to stop it." One reason I've stuck with Cox is that the tech support has been really good over the years. This week I've had two issues, one with phone, one with email. In both cases I discovered it's harder to contact support than in the past, and neither issue has been resolved. Over the past eight days I've had five local individuals call me and say they had missed calls that showed my name and number on their caller ID. I haven't made any of these calls, and they don't show up on the Cox app as outgoing calls. I tried both online chat and the "Customer Advocate Group" number and both times the tech basically said they didn't have a clue what was going on and that there is no way to fix it. Thanks Tiffany. I've been recording on-demand programs for years with no problem since I had the service added to my package, like I say, it's as if it changed overnight. I don't record them for any nefarious purpose. In general it's so I can watch a program later on an older DVD player in my exercise room that isn't connected to Cox. And on occasion I record a show my sister has missed for some reason and let her watch it. Again, nothing terribly deceitful about that. At the end of most network shows now, the network says, "if you miss a program, watch it on CBS (or whatever) on-demand." They are clearly giving the shows away (with full commercials in most cases) so if they don't mind, why would Cox?0Views0likes0CommentsWhy can't I record On-Demand programs (new issue)
I just discovered yesterday that I can't record On-demand programs on NBC and BBC America to a DVD. This always worked fine until yesterday, now it tells me it is copyrighted and can't be recorded. I went to the chat support and the Cox rep said that is all up to the network providers, not Cox. I find it odd that two different networks would suddenly put this protection on their shows on the same day. These On-demand programs have full commercials so I don't see why they suddenly don't allow recording. Does anyone have any further information about this? Thanks Stephanie. I am not trying to record as part of a series, I just manually set the recording, and it doesn't work. In the Missed Recordings area it says, "Recording failed because we experienced some technical difficulties." (Not too specific!) I tried again just now with the HD A&E channel 1040 and again, it is not working. Yes, the SD A&E channel, 40, works fine. That doesn't really help me, though. Is there a known problem with recording the A&E HD channel on DVR? I attempted twice to record a show tonight with my Cox Contour Record 6 DVR. It showed as usual for a scheduled recording, with a red circle and check mark. While the show was on, the red circle remained in the scheduling grid, but the show did not record, and the red light did not appear on the box. Other channels/networks seem to be working just fine. I haven't been able to connect to the Internet or email all day today. I tried the Windows troubleshooting, which recommended the usual, unplugging the modem for 10 seconds. Didn't help, and it tells me I have an IP configuration issue. Can't connect on my laptop or my Ipad. Are there known problems today, and are they being worked on?3KViews0likes1Comment
