The others that are on the Enhanced Webmail server have the issue. When I delete an email from my PC email client (Windows Live Mail) & then log into the Cox Webmail application all of the deleted message are still in my inbox but are striked through. The downside of this is that when I log into webmail there are hundreds of emails in my inbox (most striked through) and the valid ones are intermixed amongst all the trash that had been deleted. This doesn't occur on the classic mail version. They are placed in the appropriate deleted items folder. I've called tech support but they haven't experienced this and don't know what to do. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and what I need to do to resolve this issue. Re: IMAP Cox Deletion Of Trash ChrisL said: @rich 88 The email retention policy is basically that items placed in the trash folder are subject to removal at any time. Unread items left in the inbox are also removed after 60 days as well so it's not recommended that unread emails be left there. I was wondering if the moderator had found out any info on "why" this was done. I never saw a response to my last post so I don't know if Cox has abandoned this thread. I understand your "new policy" of deleting my personal information, but would like to understand "why" this control of my personal information was introduced by Cox. Regards, RichRe: IMAP Cox Deletion Of TrashWhy was this changed? This wasn't the policy when I signed up, nor even a year ago.Re: IMAP Cox Deletion Of TrashChris & Tiffany, I appreciate your response and would like to understand if Cox's policy is to automatically delete their customer's emails. This seems to be a bit of a personal space infringement. I think this may be beyond a product managers scope. If this is going to be a formal decision from Cox Corporate then I would like to get a formal response vs a bulletin board post. You have my contact info. RichRe: IMAP Cox Deletion Of TrashTiffany, Thanks for you timely response. I don't know how long it takes for your product teams to respond to your request but hopefully it will be a relative quick response time. Please post their response on this forum and send me a direct email so that I know how and when your team responds. Thanks, RichIMAP Cox Deletion Of TrashI started having an issue about 6 months ago where my deleted emails started to disappear. After much research I found the following from above. "Trash and Deleted Items folder contents are subject to deletion at any time". I am amazed that Cox started deleting my emails under this "policy". This is totally wrong & seems to be an invasion of my personal data. Cox provides a limit on how much space I get based on my service level and it is my responsibility to determine how to manage the messages in my folders that consume my allocated space. It is not Cox's responsibility to determine what emails I can keep or remove. I would strongly suggest that Cox either make this an option for the users to choose or to revert back to the options that currently have for managing deleted folders. I would appreciate if someone from Cox would respond to this post. Regards, Rich
