After 30+ years of being a loyal customer with Cox, you'd think they would have given us a choice of which provider to switch to. Yahoo would never have been my choice, and never will be. I recently just set up my Gmail accounts with Outlook (2010), and it was so easy (and I am in no way a "techy" person). I set IMAP instead of POP, that way I can access my emails from all of my devices. Thank you Cox! Re: COX to Yahoo, Forward email Yahoo is just not a good alternate. Once this whole transition mess happens, I'll be with Gmail, not Yahoo! I use Outlook for my emails, and I've already easily transitioned my Gmail to Outlook (IMAP), and it was simple and easy to do. Cox is not doing us any favors by throwing us all to Yahoo. Too bad they aren't transitioning us to Gmail. Would have been much better. Re: Email Transition - Lost Outlook Subfolders Hi Lisa! I appreciate your quick reply, but, the link you posted doesn't answer our questions about folders and subfolders stored in Outlook. Will our subfolders still be in Outlook once we transition to Yahoo? I understand that the subfolders will be in Yahoo, but will they also remain in Outlook? Thx, Patti Re: Email Transition - Lost Outlook Subfolders What you are describing (Steve) is my main big concern, losing folders and subfolders in Outlook! I use Outlook also. My email accounts with Cox are due to transition to Yahoo within about 2 weeks. I have 3 email addresses with Cox. I have years of stored folders and subfolders in Outlook for each of those 3 email addresses. Once the transition to Yahoo happens, will we no longer be able to view all of our folders and subfolders in Outlook? This is very concerning, as I have literally thousands of folders and sub-folders I don't want to lose! Please, someone from Cox address this question, would really appreciate a response from a Cox Moderator. Thx! Pat Send/Receive Error message all of a sudden! (Message says ISP doesn't support the connection encrption type). I have 4 email address with Cox. All of them have worked with no problems, up until just about an hour ago. One of the email address is giving me a Send/Receiver error. It has asked me a few times to put in the password in that "password box" that comes up. Then I got an error message (when I test "Account Settings") and the message says: Send test email message; Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your ISP Provider for additional assistance. Note: My other 3 email addresses are working just fine. They all have the same Incoming/Outgoing encryptions.
