I would call and it was rectified almost immediately but in almost every case, whoever I spoke to blamed anyone but Cox for getting it wrong. In July, I paid my bill early. On the 19th, Cox withdrew another payment from my checking account even though I did not have Auto pay. I called immediately and was told that yes the payment had been withdrawn in error but that in order to have the funds returned, I would have to provide proof that they had been withdrawn from my account. I won't go into why that answer upset me but I did as I was requested and provided the proof. By the end of the month, the funds had not been returned so I stopped all Cox services, returned the equipment and asked for the funds again. On the 17th, I called asking where the funds were. The answer was that a check had been cut on the 13th and that they should have been mailed on the 17th (?). It is now the 21st and no funds. And at no time was I ever asked why I left Cox. All I can assume is that they don't care about providing service or the piddling little amount I paid a month. so my question is; How do I get Cox to respond with a check or with questions to learn why I left? Re: Cable Box Freezes - Constantly I don't know if this is the same problem you are referring to but when we switch from hd to regular channels or vice versa, there is a lag of as much as 5 minutes where we have nothing but a blank screen. The cable box does not power off using the remote. Yesterday I called tech services and received the most absurd answer: since I use HDMI to connect the box to the tv, the HDMI is delivering the signal faster than the tv can process it. She suggested I use component cables instead. If they didn't know the answer, they should have told me. We recently moved into the Cox area and we have had their service for three months. I have had satellite and cable (Comcast) in other areas. They at least made an attempt to provide some service.
