Re: Can not send email from my cox account when not on cox wifi at home - both from my macbook and iphone. I have spoken with Cox customer service about two weeks ago...no resolution at all. Problem still persists. See these threads: http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/internet-forum/23090/urgent-still-having-email-issues-post-your-email-status-here-refer-cox-support-to-this-thread http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/internet-forum/23043/cox-disables-ssl-and-now-iphone-users-cannot-use-mail-app/88709#88709 Re: Slow Internet This is still a problem. My daughter switched to AT&T because of it. Hope they come to my neighborhood soon! Re: URGENT: Still having email issues? Post your email status here! Refer Cox Support to this thread. I have addressed this issue with Cox as Well: http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/internet-forum/23043/cox-disables-ssl-and-now-iphone-users-cannot-use-mail-app Any new status updates? Re: Slow Internet This morning at 6 Am when no one is on the internet in my area, I git 30 Mbps on a wired connection. I just ran the test again and I got 97.7 Mbps. Nothing changed on my end, so Cox must be doing something different. Still a long way to go to get to 1000 Mbps Slow Internet I have Cox's new "Gigablast" Internet Service. It is Not 1000 Mbps! I realize that their are a lot of components that contribute to network speed, such as the network card, router, wiring, etc., BUT Cox is not delivering their advertised speeds. I spent time with their support. I am getting 45 Mbps download on a Gigabit network card via a wired connection and 100 Mbps on a wireless connection using AC protocol. Their customer service has been degraded, unless you give them more money! They tried several things and it did not help. Their solution was to get me to buy their Complete Care Home service. I had this service for 16 years, but dropped it when I canceled their TV and phone service. It as just too expensive; over the course of 17 years with Cox, their services have doubled in cost, while other utilities have not. They told me they would charge me $75 for a site visit to troubleshoot my issues. There is no way I am paying for this, so I told them NO Technician. Why should I pay for them to visit my home, when the problem is NOT here? Cox has attempted to complete with AT&T's fiber with "Gigablast" over copper. It is NOT measuring up. When will they catch up? When will they invest in fiber to homes? Re: Cox Disables SSL and Now iPhone Users cannot use Mail app Yes this is bad. My wife switched from Cox webmail to Gmail using the same phone, same MAIL app, same everything, just NOT USING COX'S EMAIL SERVERS! And it worked fine. Cox has definitely screwed up their email service! Re: Cox Disables SSL and Now iPhone Users cannot use Mail app Good information, which is what I have for the iPhone for Outbound settings. The issue is with any connection that is NOT Cox, such as using T-Mobile for connecting to the SMTP server They are rejecting those settings when on a phone carrier network. Re: Cox Disables SSL and Now iPhone Users cannot use Mail app This not a password issue! This is a Cox Server issue. Apple will never change their products, UNLESS Cox works with them. Will that ever happen? Cox Disables SSL and Now iPhone Users cannot use Mail app I have been a Cox customer for 16 years. I have had an iPhone for 11 of those years. iPhone Mail has always worked. On April 24, 2019, Cox updated their email servers to make it more secure. It is so secure it no longer works. Nothing on the Cox Support website on SMTP setup is correct. I can receive email using IMAP, but email will not send when attached to my phone service provider. If I switch on Wireless and connect to a wireless network, the mail is sent! I called customer support and got no where. They sent me to Cox Complete Care Support, but they wanted money to assist me. I then was sent to "free" support where I was put on terminal hold. This is terrible! Does anyone have a fix for iPhone Users wanting to send email over the Cox network? Does Cox expect their customers to go without sending email?
