Pai who is openly against net neutrality and openly pushes for allowing ISPs to do whatever they want and charge whatever they want. This data cap + charge is a direct result of the government's recent change in owner. Sending a complaint to the FCC will do nothing because the people heading that agency are the very people charging us more money. Nice Lie....Data Caps and overages were being pushed long before the recent change in ownership of the government...as you put it. COX's Gouge by the Gig started under Obama. Re: Data Cap COX's NEW solution to avoiding answering the question of why these caps are needed...their answer is that none of our their valued customers actually reach their limit, so this thread is marked SOLVED. Re: Data Cap Join every other pissed-off customer and FILE AND FCC COMPLAINT! Re: So First you Scam me, then Charge me More Money for Using the Net? As much as COX would like you to blame the FCC....they were charging OVERAGE FEES before Pai took over control...OBAMA was still President when this ** started. Re: Data Cap Colleen...with all due respect...YOU ARE A LIAR. As for Century Link....I will pay $100 a month less for TV, Internet and Phone....yes, my speed will lower., however...DATA IS NOT CAPPED on their gigabit plan or if you subscribe to their Prism TV. Century Link DROPPED overage fees and moved back to the plan to motivate customers to move to higher tiers when overages occur.. With that stated.....COX loses almost $300 a month from me....I hope a million others join me. The CEO of Frontier has publicly admitted that overage fees have no correlation to data usage. Greed is the only motivation for instituting them. Re: Data Cap Re: Data Cap Release from Century link May 3rd.... Internet usage trial in Yakima, WA CenturyLink launched a High-Speed Internet (HSI) usage-based billing program for our customers located in Yakima, WA area in 2016. This change allowed you to proactively monitor your Internet usage and make decisions based on your usage each month. Because this approach no longer aligns with our goal to simplify offers and pricing for our customers, we have decided to end this program, effective May 3, 2017. If you incurred overage charges related to this program, those charges will be credited and appear on your June or July monthly billing statement. No action is required on your part, and there are no impacts to your existing CenturyLink service. Internet and data usage limits only apply to customers who are part of a usage-based billing trial for CenturyLink®High-Speed Internet subscribers in Yakima, WA. More information is available in theCenturyLink®Excessive Use Policyand associatedFAQ document. For more information about Internet and data usage limits, please chat with us online or call 877-668-4649 for additional assistance. They do have an excessive use policy, but if you are on their gigabit service OR subscribe to Prism TV...there is no cap at all. Re: Data Cap You've got 2 months before it goes into effect...if you are in the new batch of soon to be former customers. Data Cap Congratulations..... after having me as a customer at two addresses for a total exceeding 35 years, you have finally managed to force me to leave. Most companies have limited their greed to a max of $50 a month in overages...NOT COX. Some companies offer an upper tier for unlimited data...NOT COX Some companies don't even enforce a cap for customers that use multiple services...NOT COX. What does COX want to do...charge me $200 extra a month to exceed a 2tb cap that they took away in the middle of the night and changed to 1tb, to increase their profits. At that price, do you realize I could sign up for three Ultimate tiers at the same address, cause more of the imaginary network congestion you claim and still pay less than what you greedy bast#ds want? Let this serve as my two month grace period before I cancel TV, INTERNET and PHONE service. I'll be calling you soon. Solved
