Live viewing is perfect, the ability to record is perfect and video playback is perfect. On Demand is terrible. If a tech messes with my system, then suddenly my recordings don't work properly or live viewing is affected. What a dilemma. Re: Contour 2 faults Hi Carol, it happens at all times of the day. Thanks. Re: Contour 2 faults Hi Latitia, everything and anything viewed via On Demand produces video stuttering intermittently, including movies, tv shows, sports, Fox, NBC, FX, VH1, MTV, etc. Live viewing and dvr recording playback work perfectly. I usually access On Demand programming using the voice search on the Contour 2 remote. The dvr has been replaced twice and all the fittings have been replaced as of two weeks ago. HDMI cable has been replaced with a new one. No splitters at all anywhere. Signal levels are excellent per the Cox tech. Cables modem (internet) and Cox phone service working perfectly. The issue continues. Thanks. Re: Contour 2 faults Duran Duran, thanks for the response. At least I know I'm not the only one with this stuttering issue with On Demand content. I'm to the point where I don't even want to view On Demand anymore. Do you also have the Contour 2 Arris XG1v3 6 tuner DVR? Re: Contour 2 faults Hi Becky, there is no splitter. The 6ft coax comes straight from the wall outlet into the Arris 6 tuner dvr. Thanks. Re: Contour 2 faults I am also experiencing the stuttering you and bababerry describe when viewing On Demand programming. I wonder if some of these Contour 2 DVRs are having issues when it comes to streaming content but I don't know if the issues we are experiencing are related. I have another thread describing my specific problem with jerky video/stuttering when viewing on demand content...my tv is a Panasonic though. Re: Arris XG1v3 Contour 2 DVR video flickers only when playing On Demand content Hi Nichole, the screen does not go black and the audio does not cut out. It's a split second flicker that happens about 6 or 7 times per minute. At times it almost looks like a strobe effect for a couple of seconds then clears up, then repeats, then clears up, etc. Btw, I also changed out the HDMI cable with a new one and the issue persists. Thanks. Arris XG1v3 Contour 2 DVR video flickers only when playing On Demand content Upgraded to the new Contour 2 Arris XG1v3 6 tuner DVR last week. I can see live channels perfectly and can record and playback my recordings perfectly as well. However, when playing any On Demand content (from any channel or any program on demand) thru the same dvr, the video has a slight stutter or flicker (maybe dropping a frame) every ten seconds or so. It's very distracting and takes away from the enjoyment of the program being watched. I swapped out the dvr twice with the same model Arris dvr and the problem persists. Last week, all my levels were checked out by a Cox technician and were reported as being clean and strong. All fittings were replaced inside and outside the home, including at the sidewalk. The entire cable from the sidewalk to my home was replaced. My Cox cable internet modem is working perfectly as well as my home phone. Can anyone offer some ideas or thoughts as to what could be happening? Cox Comm has run out of answers. Thanks in advance.
